A tribute to Mark KozelekIt’s intriguing to think that with “Duk Koo Kim” change can hit the listener so insightfully, despite Mark Kozelek’s obvious resolution to remain unchanged himself. In no means do I do the man injustice, for in a world where musicians drastically alter their spectrum with their growing perception of the world, Kozelek is content with organic melodies. Practically everything that relates to the man feels stripped down: from Red House Painter’s slowly epic Down Colourful Hill right up to the claustrophobic musings of this Spring’s very own April, every release has Kozelek’s signature scent of honesty.
